The Role: Copywriter, beta tester, mobile app evangelist

The Journey: In the summer of 2017, I picked up what I thought would be a quick writing gig for a startup travel guide company. Turned out that needed a lot more content - every National Park and State Park in the country. Chimani National Parks App needed my help, and I would heed their call.

With my backpack, some pens, paper, camera, and dog in tow, I did a little driving. I hiked a lot. I had about 10 journals full of rich, unique imagery that our parks offer us. I wondered why more people didn’t visit these places. So my hope was that by making it more accessible to folks on their devices, they may be more likely to venture out.

Impact: From Badlands to Yosemite National Park and in total 419 national parks, the app covers a multitude of detailed excursions, from park ranger stations to obscure histories.

Today, Chimani is the leading national park app. I’m proud to have been a part of its inception.
